EPIC Cross Country - Norman Inkpen's Ride Across America

This spring, Norman A. Inkpen Jr. ’70, ’22 D.P.S. will take on an extraordinary challenge: cycling more than 2,900 miles across the United States to raise support for Kutztown University, with a goal to raise $3 for every mile ridden.

Riding the Epic Cross Country – Southern Tier Bike Tour, Norman, starting on March 7, 2026, will travel from San Diego, California to St. Augustine, Florida over approximately 45 days, pedaling through deserts, mountains, ranchlands, bayous, and historic southern towns. This fully supported ride includes professional guides, route mapping, daily meals, lodging, and vehicle support—allowing Norman to focus entirely on the miles ahead and the mission behind them.

Norman’s coast-to-coast journey is more than a physical test of endurance—it’s a meaningful opportunity to give back. As he rides across America, he will be fundraising to support the Together We're Golden Endowed Retention Grant. Every mile represents commitment, perseverance, and belief in the power of education. Gifts made in support of Norman’s ride directly contribute to KU’s continued growth and impact, helping ensure future students have the resources they need to succeed.

The Together We're Golden Endowed Retention Grants offers micro grants to students facing modest financial gaps that could otherwise hinder their ability to pay tuition and fees—helping keep Golden Bears enrolled and on track to graduate.
