Pen2Paper is Kutztown University's official spoken word club, founded in 2022. Pen2Paper is a community-based organization that specializes in poetry and performance.
Our mission is to foster a space where all creatives can come together, express themselves, and refine their craft. Pen2Paper was created to be a hub for students, regardless of their background, to find community.
Since its start, Pen2Paper has made great strides in outreach. We have hosted numerous workshops, brought in prominent spoken word artists such as Fanta Ballo and Ed Mabrey, and we were invited to attend the InnaStarz Award ceremony.
Our biggest accomplishment was curating the Moments Create Movements showcase. This showcase allowed students to truly shine and show off their art on a larger scale. It's events like this that allow creatives on campus to feel seen and be heard. That is our entire goal.
We are raising funds to support more Pen2Paper initiatives, events, and members. This matters because spaces like Pen2Paper allow the campus community to have a place to feel like they belong while also growing within their art, and that is important.
