Transfer Activities Council is a new student organization on campus giving the opportunity for Transfer Students to engage with other Transfer Students. The purpose of the group is to help support transfer students' transition to Kutztown while providing opportunities to meet and build connections with other transfers who may be going through similar experiences. The group is run by other transfer students who plan programs and events with their fellow transfer students in mind. The Transfer Activities Council meets weekly on Wednesday in the University Place Conference Room, which is the residential building that houses a large population of our transfer students.
Why does TAC need funds? The Transfer Activities Council (TAC) is a newer organization on campus that was established last spring semester. A student-led organization dedicated to providing engagement opportunities for transfer students. Membership does not require the student to be a transfer. TAC hosts a variety of social events such as crafts, games, and other interactive activities to foster community involvement. The requested funds will be used to support student-led initiatives that enhance member engagement. Additionally, TAC would like to allocate a portion of the budget for member recognition programs. For example, we have a "Member of the Week" initiative, where a plush Avalanche bear is passed to highlight and retain active members.
Furthermore, TAC collaborates with the Housing Office to host large-scale events, such as Bingo nights, to encourage transfer students to connect with one another and build relationships within the campus community. TAC will also participate in various National Transfer Student Week events on campus and help encourage transfer students to support the week's participation in supporting various groups. These funds would ensure the continued success of these events and further support TAC's mission of fostering connection and inclusion among transfer students.
