Esports

Kutztown Esports currently offers six games on its current lineup: Smash Bros/FGC, Mario Kart, Splatoon, League of Legends, Valorant, and Marvel Rivals. Our competitive ventures and goals for these teams have become more ambitious over the years, as Kutztown Esports seeks to gain more exposure through traveling to and hosting events. Within the past year, our teams have accomplished plenty and have been very active over the past year, with prospects and potential for growth only continuing to blossom with each move we make. Here are some of the things Kutztown Esports has accomplished over the past year:

Smash/FGC:
- Attended several major events for Smash, including Riptide, Let's Make Big Moves, and Supernova
- Attended an invitational collegiate crew battle bracket at Let's Make Big Moves
- Have had several current students and alumni ranked in Central PA
- Hosts weekly and monthly tournaments in the MSU
- Established the Pennsylvania Ultimate Collegiate Cup (PAUCC) in collaboration with six other universities, with one of the eight qualifiers and the finals taking place in Kutztown

Mario Kart:
- Attended Riptide 2024 and had students finish 1st and 7th place in the Mario Kart event
- Frequently travel to Philadelphia for Broad Street Blur, a monthly event in Philadelphia
- Host Bananalanche, a Mario Kart LAN event with several colleges in attendance

Splatoon:
- Home to over 25 players across 4 teams, making it the most populous team on the Kutztown Esports lineup
- Also home to a Division 1 Splatoon team
- Attended Riptide 2024 and finished 2nd out of 14 teams in the collegiate Splatoon event
- Host a yearly LAN event on-campus with several other colleges in attendance
- Frequently travel to LAN events hosted by other colleges

Valorant, Marvel Rivals, and League of Legends also have ambitions to host and travel to LAN events throughout the academic year. However, such is not possible without proper funding. Traveling expenses can add up considering how active our teams are, and it's imperative we continue to support these teams as they continue to grow.
