Marine Science

Kutztown University offers a unique opportunity for Pennsylvania students to study Marine Science! Our long-standing partnership with the Chincoteague Bay Field Station makes it possible for our land-locked students to access the ocean. Our students gain hands-on experience on boats and in the field learning to use both traditional and high-tech instrumentation. These opportunities are often reserved for graduate students at other institutions. Field-intensive summer classes provide Kutztown students with a unique advantage and better prepare them to successfully enter the job market or graduate school following their B.S. degree.

Unfortunately, the cost of room, board, and equipment fees to participate in these required summer courses are creating hurdles for many Kutztown students. Our goal of $6,000 will cover all of the CBFS fees for a three-week summer class for three students.

Every cent of your donation will go directly to a Marine Science KU student to make their summer experience at the field station possible.
