Gifts to Art Education contribute to...

In 1924, KU Art Education became one of the first programs in the nation dedicated to preparing and certifying Art Supervisors. Since then, the program has expanded to include graduate and undergraduate students seeking to earn or upgrade PA licensure to teach art. In 2022, the program was recognized for producing the most art teachers in the nation (Data USA). https://url.avanan.click/v2/r0... Reaching our centennial anniversary in 2024, the KU Art Education Program continues as a leader producing high quality art educators in the state. In addition to our academic programs, we continue to offer the Annual KU Art Education Conference, now in its 86th year. We would like to organize and preserve this rich history by creating an archive in the Rohrbach Library using the open-source repository, Kutztown University Research Commons. We think it appropriate that the history of Art Education at KU be housed in an archive that showcases our student and faculty research to the world alongside the history of the university. We would like to hire a graduate assistant to work under the guidance of KU archivist Susan Czerny and Assistant Professor Leslie Sotomayor. This person will digitize decades of conference materials, exhibitions flyers, visiting scholar presentations, artist collaborations, books and articles published by faculty and students, as well as M.Ed. theses. |
